Witnessing the abundance of misinformation disseminating through the public psyche left me no choice but to refire this substack.
The Mission
To educate and continue to learn from the informed (and uninformed!) about energy transition narratives, energy first principles, transpiring trends, potential inflection points, and what the future likely holds.
This is said with intentional vagueness as future posts will cover the energy environment as a whole, which hosts a tree of topics with multiple branches and hundreds of leaves.
Future Posts
Releases will provide commentary and analysis relevant to current energy trends if they are meaningful, discuss frameworks for thinking about the current and future state of the energy sector, and dive deep into each energy type and its related companies, regulation, emerging tech, trends etc.
Research shops like BNEF charging $70k+ per year for data forecasts that are run through simple Machine Learning models is beyond absurd. The few firms monopolizing the energy research and analytics space cannot continue to be solely accessible to the elite while us peasants resort to extrapolating cherry-picked headline data points, since that’s all they’re willing to share. Doing this leaves a lot of crucial information on the table and ends up driving narratives, which as you will soon learn, drives reality.

Further down the road we will attempt to make these same forecasts to use as a guidepost rather than law, knowing the severe limitations of them.
Hit. me. up!
Though my desire to publish is mainly driven by my craving to inform the public of these trends, your interest and feedback is an added motivator! So reach out with any feedback, good and bad, and I’ll make sure we get up to speed. The goal is to get you to make informed not-investment decisions, engage in more fruitful discussions, and swing the public misinformation pendulum back to its mean.
This Sunday I’ll be sending out a piece “Energy Crisis Origins: how narratives drive reality” to kick things off
Feel free to skim through the other pieces published - they’re always intended to be timeless!
